What is PRP?
PRP uses a small sample of your own blood. The sample is spun to separate out the platelet-rich plasma, which is then placed into the skin or scalp.
PRP for the face
On the face, PRP is used to support skin rejuvenation and may help improve skin texture and tone. Results build gradually and vary from person to person.
PRP for hair
On the scalp, PRP is used to support hair in areas of thinning. It is not suitable for every type of hair loss, and results vary.
If your hair loss needs medical investigation, Roxy may suggest speaking to your GP first.
Your consultation
Before any treatment, Roxy will talk through what you would like to achieve, review your medical history, explain the possible risks and side effects, and agree a plan with you. If PRP is not the right option for you, she will tell you.
Aftercare and recovery
Redness, mild swelling and tenderness are common for 24 to 48 hours. You will be given aftercare advice before you leave.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really my own blood?
Yes. PRP is prepared from a small sample of your own blood, taken at the start of the appointment.
How many sessions will I need?
A course of sessions is usually recommended. Roxy will suggest a plan based on your goals.
Does PRP work for all hair loss?
No. It is not suitable for every type of hair loss, which is why the consultation matters.
